Project Highlight
USACE Augusta CDC Addition

Fort Gordon
Project Size: 16,450 SF (new addition) + 1,500 SF (renovation)
The work includes construction of a small Child Development Center for children under six years of age and will serve as an addition to an existing Child Development Center, connected by a conditioned, pedestrian corridor.
This project includes detailed phasing in the contract GC drawings. There are four phases of work, generally consisting of Phase 1: Install utilities to support exterior mechanical building for new CDC. Phase 2: Cutover utilities to existing CDC in order to maintain conditioning of existing building and demolish existing exterior utility plant. Construction, commission, and otherwise complete all work for the new 16,450 SF addition. Phase 3: After the end user is utilizing the kitchen in the new facility, renovate existing CDC kitchen. Phase 4: Commission existing CDC kitchen.
The Contractor is not required to have a field office during Phase 1 or Phase 3. The Contractor should anticipate up to 180 days of end user fit out time, after building turnover, to commence Phase 3 of the existing CDC kitchen.
The new CDC will be a 16,450 square-foot (sf) addition to the existing CDC. Included in the work will be a 400 square-foot conditioned, pedestrian corridor from the existing CDC, and 200 square-foot of additional space to account for increased exterior wall thickness for compliance with Fort Gordon’s ATFP threat assessment. The project will include renovation of approximately 1,500 SF of space in the existing CDC.
