Upgrade Cleanrooms at the CRCA

CUSTOMER: NASA

Kennedy Space Center, FL

NASA’s Kennedy Space Center has awarded ADVON Construction the contract to upgrade the clean room systems at the Component Refurbishment and Chemical Analysis (CRCA) facility. This project will enhance clean room capabilities through a three-phase approach designed to maintain continuous operations throughout construction.

The clean room upgrades include converting the existing shipping and receiving area into a backup clean room facility, followed by comprehensive renovations to the primary clean room once the backup facility becomes operational. Additionally, building K6-1748 will be renovated to serve as the new shipping and receiving area, ensuring uninterrupted workflow during the clean room enhancement process.

This phased construction approach allows the facility’s multiple-shift clean room operations to continue without disruption while significantly improving the overall clean room infrastructure and capabilities.

This project supports NASA’s Artemis Program, which is a series of missions to return humans to the Moon, with the ultimate goal of establishing a long-term presence on the lunar surface and preparing for human exploration of Mars.
