USAF Exterior Renovation of Building 36

Located at Eglin Air Force Base, the world’s largest Air Force installation and a premier center for advanced weapons development, Building 36 required a comprehensive exterior modernization to maintain its operational readiness. Kingstruction-Advon JV was selected to execute this high-impact renovation, transforming the facility’s building envelope to meet modern efficiency and durability standards.
Comprehensive Exterior Revitalization: This project involved a total lifecycle upgrade of the building’s exterior systems, designed to withstand the demanding coastal environment of the Florida Panhandle.
Technical Scope & Modernization:
- Roofing Infrastructure: Execution of a full-scale demolition of the legacy roofing system, followed by the installation of a new 3,200-square-foot high-performance shingle roof, engineered for superior weather resistance.
- HVAC Systems Upgrade: Comprehensive replacement of critical HVAC equipment to improve interior climate control and energy efficiency.
- High-Efficiency Openings: Removal and replacement of all exterior doors and windows, utilizing modern materials to enhance both site security and the facility’s thermal envelope.
- Building Envelope Restoration: A complete overhaul of the building’s exterior surfaces, including the replacement of fiber cement siding, fascia, and soffit.
- Finishing & Preservation: Application of a specialized exterior coating system (paint) to provide long-term protection against UV degradation and moisture.
Quality and Readiness: By managing this multi-trade renovation as a Joint Venture, we ensured that Building 36 was delivered with the precision and speed required for active military infrastructure. This project underscores our ability to revitalize essential Department of Defense assets, extending their service life while providing a modern, high-functioning environment for the personnel stationed at Eglin AFB.
