Lynchburg Whole Center Renovations

The USACE Charleston District awarded the Lynchburg, VA Whole Center Renovations (WCR) project to ADVON Construction. The primary purpose of this project is to renovate specific aspects of the Marine Forces Reserve (MFR) Lynchburg, VA Building. ADVON will remove the existing photovoltaic system from the roof before starting the abatement and demolition of the current roof system. A new modified bituminous membrane roof system will be installed along with new flashing. The exterior of the building will be restored to include brick pointing, new exterior sealants and CMU repair/replacement. The existing concrete foundation and piers will be repaired in multiple locations. ADVON will install a new steel roof access ladder system. The facility has existing sidewalks that will be removed and new sidewalks placed. The existing 4” storm water system will be excavated and removed and a new 6” system installed that will connect to a new roof drainage system. ADVON will renovate the interior of the building to include the retrofit of fifteen (15) roll up doors with new counterbalance springs, rollers, hinges and weatherstripping. The existing weight room will have the damaged concrete slab removed and replaced with new concrete. Within the facility there will be new painting, replacement of ceiling grid and tile and installation of new heavy duty wire partitions. ADVON will upgrade the existing HVAC system with new ductwork, exhaust fans and new RTU. The electrical service for this building with be upgraded to include new secondary service, exterior distribution panel, added data outlets and conduit.
